I am influenced by modern jazz but still listen to the old greats. Not just jazz, I've always had time for soul, funk, pop, dance, rock and early punk. Everything from Led Zeppelin to Pink Floyd, Hendrix, to Miles Davis.
Growing up in New Zealand, there was so much play, experimentation, creatively, inspiration. I worked as a chef all over the world, while playing in bands where I could. Moving to the UK in the 90’s was an eye opener, so many festivals.
I started on the drum kit in my early teens and also play the bongos, djembe, congas, keys and I like to sing. Going forward, I just want to keep writing, collaborating, recording, playing live and releasing music.
